The world is changing rapidly, and leaders need to adapt to the evolving landscape. This short course is designed to equip aspiring and current leaders with the skills, mindset, and strategies necessary to thrive in the dynamic and complex world of tomorrow.

In this course you will explore the changing nature of leadership in the 21st century, with a focus on emerging trends, global challenges, and the role of leaders as change agents. Furthermore, the course will cover the importance of building and leading high-performing teams, managing change, and driving innovation. Participants will learn strategies to inspire, motivate, and engage their teams, and to create a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

The course will consist of a series of interactive workshops where students will take part in the construction of the learning environment through projects, case studies, and activities.

The student learning outcomes resulting from the course will include development of soft skills related to leadership, enhanced public speaking skills, opportunities for team learning and team building, and development of personal and professional skills in general. Overall, students will receive an unmatched learning experience

that moves beyond information toward practical application of knowledge and opportunities to engage with global stakeholders and executives through networking, assignments, and activities.

Evaluation Process: Students are evaluated through quizzes, written assessments, and the final capstone project.

Jennifer Braddock holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communication (2013) with a specialization in international and intercultural communication from the University of Florida. Prior to that, Dr. Braddock earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and Communication Studies from Western Kentucky University (2004) and a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration degree (2009) from Georgia Southern University. Amongst these educational experiences, Dr. Braddock also has worked as the Pricing/Inside Sales manager for an international logistics provider and as the Assistant Director for Housing and Residence Life at Armstrong Atlantic State University.

With three degrees in hand, Dr. Braddock has continued teaching graduate and undergraduate courses at the University of Florida to include interpersonal communication, public speaking, business writing, multimedia writing, data literacy, global communication, research methods and communication theory. She also offered her services at Cañada College in Redwood City, California, where she taught public speaking and introductory communication classes.

Dr. Braddock’s research agenda includes health communication and intercultural communication among other interests. She and her colleagues have presented their research at conferences from Auckland to Paris and many cities in between, resulting in twenty plus journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Braddock wrote and published a web-based textbook entitled, Becoming global citizens: A handbook for international media and communications.

In 2021, Dr. Braddock joined the Education team at the National Society of Leadership and Success where she develops curriculum that leverages her years of live and online teaching experience to form active, and effective, learning environments. Her work as a learning designer and as the Director of Education International for the NSLS is focused on ways to help learners and leaders obtain the skills they need to advance their own interests, passions, and careers as a means of positively impacting communities.
