Colombia is known as the country of birds, being home to 20% of the world’s avifauna and boasting the greatest diversity of birds on the planet.

The hummingbird family (Trochilidae) is particularly prominent in our continent, with 264 recorded species, of which 177 are found in Colombia. This firmly secures the country’s position as a leader in this delightful bird’s diversity.

Because of this, we have selected the hummingbird as a worthy representative of our country that reflects our landscapes and ecosystems. The geometric representation of our hummingbird, through scalene triangles, symbolizes its silhouette, form, and proportions, serving as an artistic representation of the map of Latin America.

In the design, the hummingbird’s beak merges with the word «World,» as if it were drawing nourishment from it. This metaphor suggests that, in this edition of the World Congress of Constitutional Law, Latin America will have the opportunity to directly benefit from this important event.

Furthermore, our choice is supported by the fact that our University is located in the environmental center of Bogotá, and all its policies are aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through the preservation and care of our forests and gardens, we strive to create an opportune habitat on our campus for this remarkable and unique bird species.
